The inquiry into interference suffered by TESSACE (G McElhinney) and CHURCHILL BROMAC (M Muscat) near the 350 metres in Race 4 and the Penrith harness meeting on 21 June 2012.
Driver Mr Jay Bellamy (OHOKA DALLAS) pleaded guilty to a charge under AHRR 168(1) for careless driving in that he allowed OHOKA DALLAS to shift up the track causing interference to TESSACE and CHURCHILL BROMAC.
Mr Bellamy was suspended from driving in races for a period of 28 days effective immediately.

Driver – Mr Steven Golding
A further inquiry into the driving tactics of Driver Mr Steven Golding (LEADING LAVROS NZ) and Mr Michael Muscat (ALTA ONASSIS NZ) in Race 4 at Penrith on 19 July7 2012.
Evidence was taken from Trainer Mr Kevin Pizzuto (LEADING LAVROS NZ, ALTA ONASSIS NZ and Drivers Mr Michael Muscat (ALTA ONASSIS NZ) and Steven Golding.
Mr Golding pleaded guilty to a charge under AHRR 149(2) for driving LEADING LAVROS NZ in an unacceptable manner. The particulars of the charge being that after attaining the lead in the early stages, he elected to restrain LEADING LAVROS NZ thereby surrendering the lead when under no pressure, an action which in the opinion of the Stewards was unacceptable as LEADING LAVROS NZ had shown to perform to its best when leading in races and was its usual racing pattern.
In considering penalty, Stewards took into account Mr Golding’s guilty plea, his blemish free record in regards to breaches of this Rule, his relative inexperience and that he had recently relocated to NSW from New Zealand.
Mr Golding was suspended from driving in races for a period of 28 days effective from midnight Thursday 2 August 2012.
Harness Racing NSW (HRNSW) is the controlling body for harness racing in New South Wales with responsibility for commercial and regulatory management of the industry including 31 racing clubs across the State. HRNSW is headed by ah industry- appointed Board of Directors and is independent of Government.

Former Racing Queensland thoroughbred Chief Steward Reid Sanders (pictured) is now the Integrity Manager for Harness Racing New South Wales and in my opinion he's doing a top job sorting the industry out down there.

99.9% of pacers race in this gear - hopples. Last Monday's Goulburn winner Papa Camelot, trainer by Neil Day and driven by Neil's daughter Amy - races free legged, which is quite rare.
FOUR WINNERS IN 48 HOURS FOR NEIL DAY
In the space of 48 hours Goulburn horseman Neil Day prepared four winners and the likeable trainer is hoping the run continues with his talented three year old Magic Bliss set to head to Victoria next week for the Breeders Crown. Day won a Regional Final of the Breeders Challenge at Newcastle on Saturday night before preparing three winners on his home track on Monday.
“The stable is going well at the moment and with the Breeders Crown final later this month it is good to see Magic Bliss has hit form at the right time of the season,” Day said.
“He has drawn some nice barriers lately which has helped him and he is still where he was at twelve months ago when he was very competitive in all of the feature races in New South Wales and Victoria, so it’s off to the Breeders Crown and then he can have a good break and I can concentrate on his four year old campaign.”
Day’s treble at Goulburn on Monday was pleasing because two of the three winners had been off the scene recently.
“I’ve had a fair bit of luck at Goulburn since the track has re-opened but it was nice to win with the three year olds on Monday because they have both had some issues and needed time to get over them.”
“I have had a few horses for the Cordina family and it was nice to win a race for them with Real Armbro.”
The first of Day’s three winners was six year old Papa Camelot, the son of Safely Kept bringing up the 11th win of his career which has seen the gelding earn in excess of $50,000.
“The old boy was driven well by Amy (Day, Neil’s daughter) and it is good to see him improve since we took the hopples off him three runs ago, he paces free legged and there is no doubt that he is racing so much better without them on.”
“It was nice to see Amy out there driving winners again after a recent fall at Canberra because she was in such good form before the accident.”

Trainer Barry Lew (pictured here in this file photo with his wife Ronda) has failed in his Appeal against a six months disqualification. He's also been ordered to pay costs of $5,000 to Harness Racing New South Wales.
